Public
Transport
There are several regular bus services leaving from the major bus
terminals in Manila to bring you to Batangas pier. The most
convenient and safe one is operated by the SIKAT Bus and Ferry
services. Departure time is daily at 8 A.M. from the City State
Tower Hotel in Mabini Street in Ermita. The SIKAT service will bring
you directly to Sabang Beach. The Scubaplus Dive Center is located
on Small Laguna Beach (5 minutes walking distance)
If you wish to arrange your own transportation to Batangas pier,
there are several ferry services available to get you to Puerto
Galera town and Sabang Beach. Guarded parking is also available at
the Batangas pier. The last ferry will leave Batangas by 3:30 P.M.
Once in Puerto Galera, take a banka boat from the pier to Small la
Laguna (the fare is 250 Pesos) You can also take a jeepney to Sabang
Beach (if you are willing to wait till its full of passengers; the
fare is 20 Pesos), and then take a 5 minute walk to Small la Laguna.
Puerto Galera also offers numerous isolated coves and
beaches just waiting for your visit, there are not many places left
in the world where you can have a whole beach to yourself. Kayaking,
hiking, swimming and snorkeling add to the list of non-diving
activities. Some of the best views are from Ponderosa, a nine-hole
golf course 1, 400 feet up a near-by mountain.
The area is a popular, safe location for single travelers as well as
a growing family destination. Direct private transfers from Manila,
hot water, mini bars, swimming pools and great variety of
restaurants, including Thai, Indian and Italian as well as local
cuisine all combine to make the area one of the most popular weekend
retreats for Manila residents. |
